Hi All,

I have a client who wants to migrate away from a Yahoo store to a more customizable e-commerce cart. The Yahoo layouts are too tight and don't allow for custom resizing of product images, etc. I've been using Go Daddy for most of my clients and PayPal for most of my e-commerce, but this client sells thousands of products and has a brick and mortar store as well, so a few PayPal buttons are not going to cut it. She needs the 'specials' and 'volumen discounting' options available in dedicated cart applications.

The Go Daddy e-commerce templates seem to be bland. Most ready-made templates ARE bland. As a designer, I have customized Joomla templates and CSS-based templates without any problems, but customizing an e-commerce layout may prove to be a different challenge. I remember running into layout limitations a few years ago with CubeCart.

Go Daddy also charges a premium for each level of products, with the highest being around $50 per month + transaction percentages and fees. I know they have great customer service which is why I use them for clients, but would my client be getting the most e-commerce flexibility and value with Go Daddy?

Can anyone recommend both a host and cart that provides the most design flexibility and price value?  I want to get started... within a week... so these decisions have to be made pretty quickly.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Susan
