Net "Tuesday" presented by Triangle 501 Tech Club and NetSquared

Are you a nonprofit worker who's interested in using emerging technologies
to share and collaborate with others and transform the way you work? Are you
a tech expert who loves new Web toys and technology who's interested in
finding ways to use your skills and interests for social change? Learn about
the extraordinary work being done by nonprofits that are adopting social
networking and other technologies to further their missions.

On Thursday May 22, join fellow Triangle area Web innovators and social
change agents for an evening of learning, mixing, swapping stories and
ideas, and building new relationships at the Research Triangle Net Tuesday
presented by NetSquared and the Triangle 501 Tech Club, and sponsored by
RTPnet and NTEN.

Ruby Sinreich, Co-Director of Communications, Fellowship of Reconciliation,
will be talking about the big picture of how "Web 2.0" tools and ideas
change communication for today's nonprofit. You can expect the following
takeaways: 1. A better understanding of networked communication, a.k.a.
social media, Web 2.0, social networking, online grassroots, etc. 2.
Examples of how networked communication is impacting the work of nonprofit
organizations 3. Strategic framework for network-based approach to outreach
and advocacy

Ruby is a progressive activist, local politico, professional
organizer, and compulsive blogger. She blogs about local issues at
OrangePolitics.org, and about everything else (including nonprofit
technology, online politics, and Second Life) at lotusmedia.org.

Doors open at 6:30PM, Program will start at 7:00PM @ NC Center for
Nonprofits, 1110 Navaho Drive, Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27609.
