I wish that I did:)!  I do my backups manually, which is fine for the amount of data that I have to back up.

I'm copying the InternetWorkers distribution list.  Someone there may have experience with online backup systems.

Good luck!
Colleen

Colleen,

thanks for your recommendation. I wanted to know if you know anything about online back and storage systems. I signed up for a free trial of Carbonite (www.carbonite.com), but don't really know how to evaluate it.

thanks,
Jane

Hi Ladies,

I know that many of you do your own PC support, and one of the frustrating thing that we can all run into is "losing" files.

I was doing a quarterly backup on my machines at home (I back everything up to flash drives and store them in a safe deposit box) when I lost some files from a flash drive.  Making a long story short, I found a tool this morning that let me easily and quickly recover all the files that I lost.

The tool is Smart Data Recovery from Smart PC Tools  http://www.smartpctools.com/recovery/index.html  and it is free.

The download file was only 824K, so it takes up just about no space, important if you're trying to save it to a drive from which you have lost files.  It can handle both FAT and NTFS, and it was very, very easy to use.  (The last statement may mean nothing to some of you, but don't worry about it-- it's just FYI for those who care :))

Enjoy your weekend!

Colleen

Subject: Recovering Files Deleted from Flash Drive

Hi Folks,

I hope that all of you are doing well!

Have any of you ever tried to recover files accidentally deleted from a flash drive?  I need to attempt to do this, but don't know if there is anything inherent about how files are stored on this drive that would make this impossible.  If you don't know, do you know anyone who might?

Thanks much!

Colleen
