PODCASTERCON 2006

PodcasterCon 2006 is a free one day conference open to all participants to
discuss and learn about podcasting. This not for profit event is being
organized by a group of volunteers from around the world. The event will
not have traditional speakers, commercial product pitches, or bags full of
conference swag. The event will have free food and drink, pre-organized
sessions, and will be conducted in an unconference style. To learn more

Call for Volunteers
We need volunteers before and during the event. We need help setting up
signs to the event, helping participants find their way to Murphey Hall,
help putting up flyers in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area, basic
tech support, help blogging and recording the event, etc.

Definitions:
Podcasting - Podcasting is a process of automating the sharing of audio
and video on the Internet by subscribing to an RSS 2.0 feed.

RSS 2.0 – (Really Simple Syndication) A type of xml format that contains
a bit of syntax that allows people and software the ability to enclose
links to files like mp3s. This particular type of RSS is essential to the
existence of podcasting.

Blogs – Frequently updated web pages on which authors post short comments
about news items, interesting websites, their thoughts and more.
