Lake Benson Park (70 East to Vandora Springs Road exit, right at the top of the ramp, left on Timber Drive, right on Aversboro Road)
Parking isn't too bad; you can park in the lots provided (grassy fields next to the park) or on one of the side roads. It doesn't take nearly as long to leave afterward as, say, the fairgrounds on the 4th. Festivities start at 4:30 with music and various inflatable things for kids to jump on.
You can bring your own picnic, but no glass containers, no alcohol, and no pets.
