tsk, tsk, tsk. Careful, David, or someone might accuse you of false advertising.

for $499, you get a 1.25GHz G4 and a 40gig hard drive, 90 days phone support, a one-year warranty, and no optional anything. that's according to the brochure page (URL in David's message).

did anyone manage to get to the store before it melted? what does the 1.4GHz/80gig machine run? i haven't seen any official numbers, so i'll predict a price in the neighborhood of $699. that's an estimated $100 each for upgraded CPU and harddrive, which may be off, but doesn't seem unreasonable for an out-of-the-*ss estimate.

of course, you add AppleCare, and AirPort, and maybe some more RAM, and oooh what about that SuperDrive... I'll be very surprised if a fully-tricked-out miniMac weighs in under $1k. And don't forget you still haven't bought a screen. :)
