I can attest to Jim's methodology for dealing with Trojans and such.
I spent may hours either working around or trying to solve those Trojan
issues.
It took 2 or 3 times of getting slimed before I saw the light but now I
adhere to
Jim's Bible of maintaining a clean network.
1. Don't open any emails unless you are sure it is a legitimate one
2. Don't visit any site that uses pop up or other nefarious techniques
3. Keep my virus detection updated and scan often
4. Keep your stuff backed up and when one of those buggers makes
operations too difficult, delete and reinstall it all.
Life's good if you rigidly adhere to what I call Jim's Bible of Clean
Computer Ops.
Didn't mean to do a Jim commercial but your good bro!
Steve

In a quest to free my pc from trojan software I blew away spoolsrv.exe and
associated registry config. Now I have a quiet system but I can't print.
What is the best strategy to restore the Print Spooler ?

Blow it away and re-load it. Make sure you back up the data first. Don't
waste your time surgically fixing a problem unless you absolutely have to do
it.

Jim
