They raise an interesting point. Google could easily have served the top
ten (or twenty or hundred) of those image links from their own cache, and
prevented the slashdotting of a site. Google could have done lots of
things, including contacting site owners to let them know of the potential
for swampage. It certainly would be a polite thing for Google to do in
the future, if possible.
