Not being a big fan of fish (or fiah ;-) may be due to the fact that the fish was in and of itself bad (e.g. frozen fish sticks), or at least badly prepared. Pretty much any fresh fish can be cooked quickly, easily and very tastefully, whether it be Friday, Thursday or any other day in between.
One of my most horrible sense-memories from childhood is the smell of burned fish sticks.
