This position is
that of the network administrator and Webmaster forFPG. Administration
duties include management of the web server cluster including set-up
and configuration of Windows NT servers; implement and manage a web
site including text, graphics, animation, database interface, video
and sound. The Webmaster must also conduct necessaryprogramming to
provide requested functionality to web pages within theFPG web site.
This includes Java and related scripting, constructing databases and
their web interfaces, and any new programming that becomes
advantageous to our Internet or Intranet sites. The Webmaster must
plan and implement Intranet services for the FPG community, which
includesuch functions as Institute wide calendar, on-line form
completion and submission, and database access. The Webmaster must
also keep all relevant constituencies informed of services available
on, through and for FPG web site publishing activities; promote the
appropriate use of FPG web pages, advertise the FPG web site through
electronic, paper and personal communications. Administrative duties
associated with directing the daily operations of the FPG Web site
include project management, paperwork processing, documentation of
data source and file structures, maintenance of FPG inventory of
Web-related hardware and software, maintenance of liaison with all
projects and core units participating in web publication activities,
and maintenance of accurate records of equipment location, purchases,
etc. Extensive knowledge of Windows NT, Linux, IIS, HTTP, CGI, Cold
Fusion, HTML, Access, MySQL, Apache, JavaScript, and PHP is required.
Direct experience in management of large database-driven Website,
incorporating 50-75 active projects, is also required.
