Doc. Corey. Mike Godwin. Simon (not in the article). They all overclock their bodies to get slim and tight with Atkins and "ketosis"

[Summary: Atkins was full of it, but ketogenic diets can work. Main benefit is ability to preserve muscle when shooting for low body fat ratios]

Nil nisi bonum and all that, but just wanted to correct a few statements in the article: there is little to no evidence that ketogenic diets cause you to burn more calories than other forms of dieting. There is evidence for is that ketogenic diets seem to be protein sparing - indeed that seems to be the evolutionary reason for this metabolic state. Organs like the brain can't burn fat directly- without ketosis, the only way to keep these organs functioning is to break down protein and turn it into glycogen.

Also, a lot of diet aids are a lot more effective when insulin levels are low. The Ephedrine/Caffeine/Asprin/Tyrosine stack seems to be one of them (anecdotal), and the yohimbine's alpha-2 effects are nullified by insulin.
