Today's Asian Wall Street Journal has an article about new software designed
to mine employees' address books, date books, and such. The program then
builds a social network chart to be used to search for potential contacts for
the company. Supposedly, employees have the ability to opt out of the
program or to mark certain contacts as untouchable.

Three US vendors were listed: Visible Path of New York, Spoke Software of
Palo Alto, and ZeroDegrees of Santa Monica.

I just wonder which department each purchasing company believes should
control this software: management? HR? marketing?
