I would be totally interested in going, but the roadshow fee is $350,
isn't it? For someone without an employer to foot the bill, it's a
little steep.
Additional information about UIE roadshow people: They have a
newsletter that goes out that talks about issues and discoveries in
the realm of usability. The latest one discussed the CUE2 experiment
where usability experts reviewed the Hotmail interface.(sort of a
meta experiment, actually, since they were comparing the results from
the experimenters, rather than the results of the usability test)
Turns out, none of them seem to agree on what the others were saying.
Conclusion: usability is an art, not a science.
Well, geez... I guess I probably wasn't going to get many jobs from
that track anyway...
