Hmmm... The iLoo has all of the hallmarks of an April Fools joke, other than actually being announced in April, but now Microsoft admits it did have plans for an internet-enabled toilet:

Microsoft's public relations embarrassment over its iLoo project grew worse still today after the company, which yesterday claimed the project was a hoax (see "Microsoft iLoo a load of crap"), revealed that it did indeed plan to develop an Internet-enabled portable toilet. But only for a short while. The iLoo project, conceived by some workers at MSN U.K,  was quickly scuttled after the folks in Redmond ... caught wind of it. "We really thought the iLoo was probably not the best extension of the MSN brand," MSN product manager Lisa Gurry told the Mercury News. "The concept of MSN services in a portable toilet, it's certainly unique. And apparently in line with British humor, but ..."
