"I can whip up pancakes for breakfast in 10 minutes on a good day. The
problem is, someone will invariably insist on hiding the flour bin in
the top cupboard to keep it away from mice, someone else will insist
on drinking all the milk the night before necessitating a run to the
store, and then of course someone will have refilled the sugar bowl
with salt... which is why we're having brunch not breakfast and the
coffee tastes funny."

This reminds me of a boss I had, who would often say "How hard could it b=
e?" =20
He also had COBOL programming experiences from way back that had convince=
d=20
him that every job should take about a day. Having a good relationship w=
ith=20
this guy, my stock response became, "Really f*cking hard, Dave." I think=
he=20
then used the phrase on me at every possible opportunity just to get that=
=20
response.
