Can't help with the CD's, but I just bought a chainsaw. If I am able to
get sufficent work of my own done at home in the next few days, I will
begin "lending" my chainsawing services to friends in need, so long as I
get to keep the firewood produced from my efforts. Priority given to
those with good-burning hardwoods. ;-)

Warning: I am not a master woodswoman, nor am I insured for this sort of
thing, and will not risk life or limb to extricate you from woeful
situations. I recommend you evaluate what you need to saw, multiply the
difficulty by three (chainsaws are heavy - and trees don't always
cooperate with your ideas), and hire a pro if you have any doubts. A few
years ago I watched a guy wander around the ER at Durham Regional with a
big hunk of his thigh missing and bleeding through bandages from a
chainsaw "slip." It was New Year's and there was such a backlog, he was
still waiting when I left (there with a friend requiring stitches from a
small household accident - 6+ hrs). I would bet there is a similar
backlog in hospitals over the weekend from cleanup-related accidents.

Finally, that high school extension service course in Chainsaw Safety
pays off!

still without power in Northgate Park, Durham as of 9:00 am.

This weekend, can anyone lend me:

a) A chainsaw?

b) Distribution disks for the latest Red Hat or Mandrake distro?

Many thanks.
