Mike - can you forward the following to some of you "Internetworkers" buddies,
or anyone else who might be interested? I'm trying to get the word out - it's
going to be a really fun time. Hope you & your better half can make the
Raleigh
(or Durham) show, it'd be great to see you. Thanks!

Pals,
Hi Mom! is touring the Triangle with a "best-of-the-fest" show in Durham (Dec.
5) and in Raleigh (Dec. 11), with bands.
About 2 hours of our favorite short films, videos, and animations from Hi Mom!
#5 followed by a band. $5. 9:30 showtime. Free pancakes!

Durham: Thursday, December 5, 2002 at the Basement with special guests Shallow
Be Thy Name (really great CH band)
www.screwmusicforever.com/music/artists/shallow/ (club links at
www.himomfilmfest.org)

Raleigh: Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at King's with featured guests French
Toast (James Canty from The Make-Up, and member(s) of Fugazi).

The screening includes a mix of short films, videos, and animations of various
sorts that range from 30 seconds to 12 minutes and come from everywhere from
Chapel Hill to Australia. They range from no-budget to pretty damn slick (but
fun/unique/arty enough for the fest). It's a really solid block of films.

Also...Hi Mom #6 is scheduled for April 3-5, 2003 in Carrboro and the Call For
Entries announcement is available at the website. Please submit your
film/video/animation if it's ready. No fi to low or hi.

Hi Mom! is a volunteer-run, free-to-enter, multi-media, annual film festival
in
Carrboro/Chapel Hill that focuses on fun. Last year's fest was 5 shows over
three days, with a 35mm showing, an outdoor showing, live music, featured
guest
Albert Maysles (legendary documentarian), and lots of filmmakers and film
lovers present. It was a big success and a great time.
