Not exactly on-topic, but when we got to Athens for Thanksgiving, my father
had just (the day before) bought a new Honda Civic 4-door Hybrid. What a
neat car! I took several rides in it, and could not tell the difference in
terms of pick-up, acceleration, power, etc. Plus, once it's warmed up, the
gas engine *turns off* when you are at a stop. Very quiet, and in a Civic
body, which I've always liked.
Of course, in a town like Athens, OH, you don't have to deal with the
stop-and-go traffic that the Hybrid is ideal for, but still, it's a great
idea while we wait for hydrogen fuel cells. And since there is a 1 1/2 hour
drive to Columbus for any kind of city amenities, the 51 mpg is very nice.
This is the one he got, in that bluey silver...
