I know lots of you are science fiction/fantasy/horror readers, so here's a short blurb for Trinoc*coN 2002, which happens Friday - Sunday (October 4-6):
Come meet intelligent, witty authors, brilliant artists, gaming visionaries. Find out what makes them tick, how they get inspired, their thoughts about the future, or just what they like to drink.

Orson Scott Card will be at Trinoc*coN on Friday, Oct 4. He has a discussion panel at 6 PM, then at 7 he will talk and have a
question-and-answer session. Following that, he will have an autographing
session that will lead into the Meet the Guests party.
David Drake will attend on Sunday, Oct. 6: He'll sign books at noon and get roasted at 2.

The Trinoc*coN Website has a complete schedule of events (Meet the Guests, Staged Reading, Dance and others), discussion panels and gaming options (including a Vampire LARP). There will also be a charity auction of items provided by guests and dealers to benefit the Literacy Council of Wake County.
