Does this mean that IT is following the textile industry out of North
Carolina? Since most of the innovation in IT still comes from the U.S.
and North Carolina, I think probably not. Some of the "grunt work"
coding, perhaps, but not the core of the industry. And a lot of those
subcontinental programmers are simply meeting local demand. Hence all the
jockeying between Sun and M$ for mindshare in Bangalore and Mumbai.
