It includes the Linux kernel, which for me means Lindows is Linux. If you
know
of another definition please let me know.

If they run MS Office via WINE then it should be possible to get infected
with
a virus, which would happen even with Crossover Office.

Lindows is specifically marketing to the masses, and Wallmart is the place to
go for that. Getting product in the hands of a consumer is what Wallmart is
about. Lindows may be doing a bunch of things wrong from the technology
standpoint, but as far as I now no one else out there is trying to put
together a hardware/software package for the consumer desktop with Linux on
it. Lets face it, you're not going to get widespread adoption past the early
adopter phase until a consumers start seeing Linux PCs for sale all over the
place.

As far as I'm concerned this is good news, in that it means there is
significant capital being invested in bringing Linux to the consumer desktop.
The more money and effort that is invested in that goal, the more viable a
Linux desktop will become, which benefits all of us using Linux every day.
