Job Title: Database Administrator
Job Description: The Database Administrator
will design, develop,

implement, and modify as
necessary Division Oracle and
MySQL
databases. (S)he will
develop and maintain backup
and disaster
recovery
procedures for all database
systems, maintain all

automated interfaces between
Division databases and

institutional systems, construct
new interfaces where

appropriate, and provide
consulting to Division staff
regarding
reporting from
Division and institutional
systems.

Work
Performed:

1. Provide systems
performance monitoring,

application performance
tuning, and system usage
monitoring for
all database
systems.

2. Develop and maintain
security access
and audit
procedures for all Division
database systems.

3.
Ensure appropriate disaster
recovery and backup
procedures are
developed and
followed.

4. Maintain automated
interfaces
between SISS
(Student Information System
and Services) and CS
Housing,
including verification of data
imports/exports.

5.
Maintain documentation of
all database structures/objects.

6.
Maintain report and testing
environments for appropriate
systems,
including data
synchronization between
environments where

necessary.

7. Provide assistance to
Residential Life and
Housing
Services for testing,
installation, and maintenance
of
CS Housing and Archibus
database structures.

8. Provide
assistance and
consulting to departments
requiring development of

simple reports. Develop more
complex reports as required.

9.
Provide technical support for
specific technology projects.

10.
Assist users with needs
assessment and development
of technical
solutions to work
related problems.

11. Provide backup for server

administration functions.

12. Serve on University and
Division
committees as
appropriate.

13. Maintain appropriate

documentation on support and
business processes.

Salary will be
commensurate
with qualifications and
experience. The anticipated

start date for this position will
be as soon as possible but no

later than July 29, 2002.
