RTPnet's 3rd Annual Conference:
Bridging North Carolina's Digital/Human Divide
What's Working; What Must Be Done
will be Tuesday, May 21, 2002, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., at
the Friday Center in Chapel Hill.
Some people are benefiting from new technology and some are not. This
conference addresses the gap between those people in North Carolina who
have access to technology and the development of information skills and
those who do not. While the focus of the conference is on initiatives in
North Carolina, the conference will benefit anyone interested in community
technology centers and issues associated with bridging the digital divide.
Participants will include organizations that provide computer access and
training, social and direct service organizations whose clients would
benefit from learning to use the Internet for job and personal
development, corporations that provide funding, and individuals, such as
educators, librarians, and computer specialists, who want to learn how
they can contribute.
The conference fee, which includes lunch and materials, is $50 on or
before May 14, 2002, $75 after May 14. A limited number of full
scholarships and partial scholarships are available.
See http://www.rtpnet.org/rtpconf/ for more information.
Space is limited so register early! You are not officially registered
until we receive your check!
Registration forms and checks should be postmarked no later than May 18,
2002.
Please help spread the word. This conference is for whoever wants to come.
