Maybe it's just me, but I find if you take a whole bunch of things that
'sucked', such
as PS/2 with MCA slots, OS/2 Warp, and 16Mb/s Token Ring you ended up with a
Now now, the PS/2 Mod 77 (9577) simply rocked. It was a 486DX50 (not DX2) and
it flew.
IRQ / IO conflicts were non-existent thanks to it's MCA expansion bus and it
had XGA
graphics capable of 1600x1200 @ 60Hz

The XGA2 MCA adapter was a fully programmable chip that would run any
resolution or refresh
as long as the chips pipeline could handle the bandwidth. You could even
throw non-standard
VESA modes at it and it would run.

Stick two or more XGA2 adapters into the box and now you could run MXGA. MXGA
allowed for
multiple monitors with a single desktop under Windows 3.1 and OS/2 2.2.1 or
later. (This
is the same feature MS finally got around to putting in place for Windows 98.)

Yes, I used to support these too.
