Please try the Windows (free) version available at www.sun.com.
I know that it does a fair good job on importing Excel'97 format. As a
full-blown spreadsheet, maybe you should try it and judge by yourself.
For me, the zero price is a winning factor. My spreadsheets are not so heavy
on functions. A zero-price spreadsheet goes well with me. Everybody has
different expectations on programs.
On my situation, there's no excel for Linux, although through Wine you can
use excel... partialy.
So StarOffice is my choice.
Salut,
Josep
