I have a wonderful munch recipe that is great for the holidays.
It's a hot ham and cheese dip that you bake in a loaf of bread
(bagette or sourdough). The only thing is that you have to
remember to buy an extra loaf of bread to toast along with it:

Hot Ham and Cheese Dip (can be doubled)

1 8oz cream cheese softened
1 8oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 can chopped green chilis (in the Mexican food aisle)
4 oz deli ham chopped finely
3 green onions/scallion chopped up to the green
1 loaf bread sourdough round or french baguette

Hollow out bread, place on cookie sheet. Save and toast
the hollowed out pieces along with the loaf.

Mix together cheese, ham, chilis and onions.
Stuff hollowed bread. Bake in oven at 350 degrees
for apx. 10-30 minutes until dip is warm, soft and
ingredients are well blended.

Serve with hot bread pieces, tortilla chips, crackers
or more toasted bread pieces.
