Please, please... we're stuck here...
Really quick (really stupid, I hope) question:
What's the best way to set up a 404 on a NT 4.0 IIS server?
The issue is that we're using SSIs and have the server configured to look
for .html files and process them for SSIs.
We also have a custom 404 Error Message set up (using the "Custom Errors"
tab). (We've tried it as a "file" and as a "URL".)
Our error page is a hard-coded page (there are no SSIs on it). (It lives
at /404/index.html)
The problem we have is that anytime a file that doesn't exist that ends in
.html (like: http://servername/crunchy.html) we get the message "404
Object Not Found" and it's just the plain server-generated 404, rather
than our /404/index.html with our site graphics, etc.
Any other 404 (like http://servername/skdfljsdk) works just fine.
Any ideas what might be causing this and how we can fix it? I'd send the
URL around, but it's an intranet site so it wouldn't do you much good...
Thanks,
Gina
