My company, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC, is hiring for two web
development positions - graphic designer and web programmer.
Graphic Designer

Description:
This position will focus design for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North
Carolina's intraweb and Internet initiatives. Candidate will work day to day
with people throughout the organization on developing and producing web
page/site designs and standards to meet internal and external communication
objectives. This individual will also serve as a liaison in training and
assisting content publishers throughout the company in day-to-day design
development and maintenance.
Requirements:
BFA degree in graphic design or equivalent. Two years professional experience
in a corporate; agency; or studio design environment. Proficiency in
electronic design utilizing both Macintosh and PC environments, HTML, MS
FrontPage, Adobe Photo Shop, and Adobe Illustrator. Proficiency in Macromedia
Dreamweaver, Flash, and Director are strongly desired. Applicants will be
required to present a portfolio of work in order to be considered for this
position. Health care environment experience is preferred. Candidate must be
able to work independently in a cross-functional team environment.
Web Programmer

Description:
The Web Programmer will be a resource within the IT2 WD department to create
web-based corporate applications using a variety of programming languages.
The Web Programmer is also expected to have a high level of familiarity with
web page design and authoring, and should have a good understanding of HTML
code. The Web Programmer should be familiar with the UNIX operating system,
and will be required to administer the BCBSNC internal web server. The Web
Programmer will be additional responsibilities of training others in Level 1
(Beginning) and Level 2 (Intermediate) programming. Additionally, the Web
Programmer must research and be familiar with emerging web-based programming
design, and authoring technology.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Information Systems; Computer Science)
required. Master's degree preferred; 2 years experience with programming
using a variety of programming language, including Perl, JavaScript, shell
scripting. 1 year experience with UNIX (preferably IBM AIX). 1 year
experience with web server administration and related protocols (HTTP, SSL).
Other desirable skills include familiarity with Windows NT and IIS, Microsoft
Office 95/97/2000, experience with SQL and RDBMS's (Oracle, MySQL, etc.) and
experience with graphical design tools such as Macromedia Fireworks and Flash.
