Oh my god. You just destroyed a multi-decade delusion of actually having
been good at something. I just figured I was really good at getting the
hell out of the way. Apparently getting taken out first was yet another
status symbol...

Hmmm. One of my favorite geek games of all time is related. We played it
incessantly at S&M. It was called Tron (without license, sorry Walt).
Needed: A whole bunch of people, a whole bunch of frisbees, and about 1/3
to 1/2 an acre of treed space. The bunch of people run around chaotically,
and try to hit each other with the bunch of frisbees. Rule 1: If you get
hit you are out. Being out means you basically get to run around and toss
frisbees that are "out of bounds" back in bounds or just spectate. Rule 2:
You can only touch a frisbee with another frisbee. Rule 3: If you are
holding a frisbee you MUST keep one foot planted. Pick one and don't change
it. Rule 4: Last one "in" is the winner. I would absolutely love to play
that again if we could manage to gather the needed list.

> Well if kickball is an option, how about dodge ball.

Oh golly... Childhood memories come rushing back of doing very well at
dodgeball (like being one of 3 people left.. me and two of the athletic
sorts) and thinking "hey, I'm sorta OK at this" -- a rarity for me in a
sports-realted situation -- and then realizing that the only reason that
I'd lasted as long as I had was because no one had noticed me.

Then, BLAMMO!!, I'd be out.

sigh.

That having been said, I think that playground games would be fun. But I
*really* want to go roller skating. I *love* roller skating. If it was
disco night at the roller rink it would be heaven....
