To those who use my desktop to surf the web (spouse and child): Do this.

To the others I'm sending this to: I humbly suggest that you do this, if
you haven't already.

Privacy: Opt-Out

YOU HAVE NOT OPTED OUT YET
Please read the information below about the opt-out process and then make the final decision on whether you want to opt-out or not.

You currently have a DoubleClick cookie of the form:

id=userID

where userID is a unique user ID number.

Your unique user ID number is a3ffd01c

The system will re-assign the cookie to be:

id=OPT_OUT
This will erase the unique user ID. The new cookie will tell our systems that you have opted out; we then will know not to attempt to assign other cookies to you in the future. Since the opt-out cookie does not contain a unique user ID number, it does not allow us to identify your computer uniquely.

Why shouldn't I opt-out?

DoubleClick believes all users should have a positive Web experience.

Because of this belief, we allow advertisers to control the frequency (the number of times) a Web user sees an ad banner. We believe that frequency control makes advertising on the Web less intrusive by insuring that users are not bombarded with repeat ad messages. Opting-out removes our ability to control frequency of exposure to individual users.
