Volunteers have to go thru some kind of hazmat training.... and maybe they
heard just how "haz" it all is.

Hey, I had all kinds of folks lined up, including free freight, to send them
tons, literally, of wool.  It works to sop up any type of oils.  You stick
it in long tubes of what looks like old nylons.  Big sponges.  They aren't
interested in it either.

AND, where are the volunteers?  Is everyone going to sit on their thinking
ends until it is too late?

Thanx. Going to be a big hurricane season I'd guess.... that crap and the
oil gonna be all over, from gulf to n. pole and circle back down.

They had a guy on TV today (gov't subcontractor), they have designed
something originally to be used to protect against bio-chem warfare.
However, it is like giant sponges that can be used to sop up the oil. They
did a demo on TV today with ocean water and this "handi-wipe". Poured oil in
and it sopped it right up quickly (i.e. less than 30 seconds). BUT - nobody
from BP or US govt is returning their calls, even though they can deploy
next to immediately. GO FIGURE.

After the residual problems and illnesses and deaths, that disbursant was
*supposed* to be on the non-approved list. It is the same disbursant they
are using in the Gulf AND they are getting the same complaints about its
effects.

I have a niece who lives up there, several cousins and a good friend who
owns a magazine who lives up there. Well, they split their time between AK
and WA. All tell the same stories about what has happened AND is still
happening.

Massive coverup.

Heard from a former long time AK resident that the marine life still hasn't
returned and the people who handled the chemical disbursants are either dead
or messed up (agent orange style). Anyone else hear that? And same thing,
inches under the beach sand, black goo.

If you have room for more perennials (and the energy to plant them)
Springhill Nursery has a $100 package free except for the price of
shipping:
http://dealnews.com/Perennial-Plant-Grab-Bag-for-free-13-s-h/368806.html.

Even though the checkout page says that only one coupon may be used
you need to paste in each number followed by hitting 'reevaluate' to
get the amount owed to shipping only.

Marie
