The Ice Age was predicted long before they started fretting publicly about
global warming. The coming ice age was a favorite topic of science shows on
TV when I was a kid. We are past due for one, actually. Then, the issue
switched to global warming. By then I was a smart assed teenager, and my
response was that global warming might counteract the ice age for awhile.

Maybe 8 years ago, I saw something on PBS theorizing that the global warming
triggered by the Industrial Revolution had actually forestalled an ice age.
I had to laugh, that the long ago smart-assed teenager had been right, for
once.

At any rate, based upon global history, I doubt that ANYTHING humans do or
refrain from doing will completely forestall an ice age. We are simply not
that powerful, although we like to think we are gods.
