Bob, I'm so sorry for your loss. Mentors, relative, friends like this are hard to come by, and I know he must have been very special in your life. His knowledge and way of being--and thus a part of his life--lives on through you. And when you are able to share what you learned from him with others he'll still be around, laughing.

I consider many on this list to be friendly, if not actual friends.
Yesterday, someone imporatnt in my life died.

He taught me to drive a tractor when I was eight years old. He taught me to drive a car when I was eleven.
He took me dove hunting, out-of-state and let me use his gold plated Browning
bird gun, I was nine and didn't cut a feather .

In all of my life , he raised his voice to me - once- and then laughed.

He was a very successful man -- with an eight grade education.

He made his own way, ignored the government unless it was necessary and - as
far as i know-- never had a reason to apologize for anything.

I could say so many things about him, but it isn't necessary.

A good man died yesterday
