No homestead search is complete without a stop at Journey to Forever,
Keith's site. Thanks Keith, for such an excellent contribution. Since
you live in a 'rice' country, have you grown it yourself? Any tips to
pass on? I've been searching for information about polishing rice, but
haven't found much regarding that on a small scale.

This may be the best growing information on the net-there is lots of
info on how to transplant as well as the art of planting rice in
general. This is a MUST READ.

The information in the above file should be compared and contrasted to
John Jeavons intensive planting information and decisions must be made
as to which method might be more effective for you specific growing
location and setup.

Additional notes:

It may be necessary to direct sow rice on the water instead of
transplanting to shorten growing time. Yields will be less.
Algal film fixes nitrogen that the rice needs.
