Short answer - Yes.

Website is http://www.providentliving.com

Follow links on the left side of the page

As far as I know, LDS status is not required, and I don't think there is a difference in price for those who purchase, LDS or not. If you volunteer at the "cannery", you do get discounted rates, to purchase the things you were working on that day. I generally volunteer on days they are making things I am short on ;-). You also don't have to be LDS to volunteer. Get ahold of a local bishop, anyone nearby, and tell him you are interested in the food storage program. He will put you in touch with the coordinators for that stuff. 'course, you may have a couple of well dressed young people show up at your door later..., with a free book. ;-)

My understanding is, that the #10 cans are generally used for dry goods, so storage after opening involves putting the plastic lid back on ;-) You can even get a dry packer, to store your own bulk supplies (on loan, again bishop can refer you). Common veggies are usually available in smaller sizes, but I don't know the particulars. You know, this is a good question. I will find out the answers, and then post for everyone to see, and use as they wish. 'K?

Ray, do you folk still have long - term food (like used for the obligatory
year's supply) in grain bags, #10 cans etc; available for non - LDS.  I know
that, at least in Mesa, they used to allow; you just had to pay a bit more.  I
have been stocking up; freezer full, canned crap like chili and chef-boy-ardee,
30 lb bag of rice.  Stuff I don't normally eat, but it keeps a long time and you
can eat it without cooking if necessary.

I have a garden , but except for okra and squash, and Bell peppers, it's all
tomatoes.
I keep three propane tanks full for the grill and camping stove and I have gas
oven, and a sun oven brand solar oven (which if anyone has never used one, they
work amazingly well, for certain dishes, like cheap roasts, etc).

Anyway, if you do, how does one find the website for the person to call to place
an order , in your area. The only LDS acquaintance I have currently is long time
jack-mormon, spends his money at Fort McDowell and chasing women, he probably
knows less than I know.

If you do, How does it work with those big #10 cans.  If there are only two
people and you open such a big can, will you just have to eat that can until
it's gone?  I mean, a # 10 can of green beans is a lot of green bea
ns for two
people, even for several meals;   do they have like 1/2 #10 cans?

I have three full size grocery stores easily within a four minute drive, but if
supply stopped rolling......thank's bobford

You must do what you need to prepare for the upcoming disaster that
"WE" created, as do I.
