Morels grow under poplar and beech trees but not under conifers or oaks.
Sometimes under maples. They need nearly the same conditions of pH and
moisture
as May Apples so one guide it to look for growths of May Apples. Same with
wild ginger. The appear between two and five days (or so) after a rain.
The yellow species can be tan or dull brown and very hard to see. </HTML>
