Unfortunately, you are all too correct. A friend of mine who was making a
subsistence stand on a plot of land had his gardens wiped out and I found him
eating ramen noodles and bulk chicken quarters from the Mart. It bade fair
to
wreck his health. I gave him my spiel about spending his money on bulk oats
or
bulk corn and in two weeks when he had more money, but still had food, add
dried beans and bulk apples, and the next week rice and wheat, and the next
....
etc. He found he spent less and ate really well.
But he is not the norm. Higher prices will, alas, mean two things: 1)
Schwinging out the plastic to pay for it, and 2) Eating the industrial dreggs
of
food. Neither bodes well.
Maybe the survivors will learn. </HTML>
