Lisa, the *supposed* errors in the book, particularly those outlined by Dershowitz, aren't "errors" but arguments as to whose "version" of history is correct. The best example is where Dershowitz states "Carter's description of the recent Lebanon war is misleading. He begins by asserting that Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers. "Captured" suggest a military apprehension subject to the usual prisoner of war status. The soldiers were kidnapped, and have not been heard from--not even a sign of life. The rocket attacks that preceded Israel's invasion are largely ignored, as is the fact that Hezbollah fired its rockets from civilian population centers."
The problem with Dershowitz's "version" is that he chooses to believe that it all started with the two Israeli soldiers when infact it started just prior to that with Israel "accidentally" bombing a beach in Lebanon and killing folks out for a day at the beach.
It is kinda the same old thing as with the Indians and the soldiers. When the Indians attacked it was a massacre. When the soldiers attacked it was defending. Semantics to sway the public opinion!
So, it isn't errors in Carter's book, it is folks that want history written their way and get bent out of shape when someone doesn't stick with the current PC version of history.
Lynda, who hates to have to agree with Bill, yuck, yuck, yuck <g>

Isn't it appalling how the CoNN Channel spinmeisters are savaging poor
Jimmy Carter for daring to speak the truth?
From what I've read, the book has errors in it. Still, Carter is an 83 y.o.former President and 2002 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. He deserves better.
