I'll ask our local nursery about them. We've got about 6 acres that have
had 5 or 10 years of horse manure and 30 years of oakleaf mulch. You can
dig in the dirt with your hand. We are going to start with a 1/2 acre of
fruit trees and a 1/2 acre of various nuts and another acre in berries. We
have marion berries and raspberries but, again, planted in a REALLY dumb
spot (over the leach field). The brainiac we bought the place from thought
the prior owner had fenced off the area just so she could garden in it.
NOT! they'd fenced it off to keep the livestock from tromping on the leach
lines.
