Obviously the Horticulture we all new and loved is long gone. Gone are the travel tours and symposia. Nan Sinton is listed as a contributing editor and Roger Swain has left the building. In a single month, the quality and quantity of information has eroded to the point the publication is a throw away for me. But what concerns me more is accuracy. As I mentioned a couple of months ago, an item on their website recommended using lime to break up clay soil. To make matters worse, there was no mention of taking a soil test prior to the application.
I sent two emails and left one phone message voicing my concern regarding this advice, and never heard a word back. My response was never posted. And, the item stands as written. That does not bode well for the gardening community.
