Carol,

It looks like sweet autumn clematis to me.  The taxonomists have recently fooled around with the name, but it's listed in many places as Clematis paniculata.

Hello all:
I have a reader who needs help identifying a vine. She lives in Nova Scotia (zone 5) and says it has about 10 stalks that grow each year after she cuts it all back in the late winter. It flowers in late summer, the blooms are about an inch wide and very fragrant.
It looks so familiar but I can't spit out the name!
Thanks!
Carol
