What kinds of items are people in
zone 5 and below planting now for winter harvest? I have carrots, radish,
lettuce, brussel sprouts, cabbage and kale that look
like they will not be ready for a couple more months. I am
wondering what else it is fairly safe to plant here and still get harvested
before any major freeze.
Spinach--it will weather many
freezes. Garlic for harvest next June. Cilantro--cut it and freeze it when
a killing freeze is predicted to flavor salsas all winter.
