There are a couple of plants called valerian. What is the Latin name? One of them is known to be a prolific seeder. I'd have to check on which.

After several years of trying to get a piece of Valerian, I finally succeeded last spring. Does anybody know if when Valerian first emerges in the spring it has deep purple foliage? If so, I just might have Valerian coming out of the wazoo. (Not a bad thing but I'd like to be prepared.)
