Doreen,
Josee is not new, though some nurseries are touting it as such. I acquired
one approximately ten years ago. It's a beautiful, 6-foot high shrub whose
initial flush of blossoms is appealing. I wouldn't say that it has an
actual second "flush", more like sporadic blooming from July through as late
as September. Further, whereas the spring bloom is quite significant in
some years, the rather smallish blossoms are disappointing as compared to,
say Miss Kim. And the scent, though alluring when your nose is in the
blossoms, is rather faint five feet away. The sporadic blossoms have an
exceedingly faint scent. As to the number of second blossoms, let's just
say that I have never had enough at any one time for even a small bouquet
for the kitchen table.
All in all, IMHO, it's a pretty shrub in the landscape, is enjoyable in the
spring and then makes the perfect vertical to wind your clematis through.
