A word about Vine-X. It's active ingredient is in the clopyralid family, which is a persistent herbicide. It will stay in the ground where applied for long periods. Also, branches and foliage from treated plants cannot be chipped for mulch or composted. The resulting matter will transfer the persistent herbicide. Dow Chemical Co., one of the manufacturers of an herbicide in this family, was forced by the EPA to label its product with the warning not to compost or use for mulch, because composted treated matter was killing plants up to three years after the initial application.

Another product that is fast and easy to use is Vine-X vine and brush
control. Works on most small trees and invasive shrubs. No need to do any
cutting. Just paint the bottom six inches of stem or trunk. In two weeks it
will be toast. Built in paint brush makes for easy applications. Check it
out at www.vine-x.com
