How do hoses get pinholes and how do you fix them?

Depends on a lot of factors. First, what type of hose and how was it
constructed. If it's a single wall (cheap) hose it could simply have
cracked from
use, being driven over or uv degradation. Better quality hoses that are
multi
walled and reinforced should not develop holes. Fixing the holes is another
matter. If it's a cheap single walled hose there's little point in fixing
it
but if it's used under low pressure duct tape will work for a short time.
Quality hoses should probably be cut at the point where the hole is and
rejoined
with a double female plastic coupler that has a screw together coupling on
both
sides.
