Bill-

What model inverter would you recommend? Also, can you recommend a generator solution that has worked for you in the past?

Thanks so much for your insight!

Matthew

...and of course make sure you have a REALLY good grounded UPS or inverter protecting your router. We've been burned a couple of times by unstable electricity, lightning, poorly-wired sites, etc.

Cheers,

Stan-

I think we’re going to get the SMC Barricade version with built-in wireless based on your recommendation. Thanks for your help!

Dear JoJo,

If you are using ADSL or ADSL or something that can uplink to a WAN (CAT5+) port, then I would recommend the SMC Barricade SMC7008ABR, I think you will find this a prefect solution for you. We have this router deployed in over ten of our field offices and it’s extremely simple to use and manage and offers all the basics and advanced features that you are probably interested in.

Best,

Stan

We are researching outfitting one of our Rwanda offices with a 256k connection through Terracom (formerly Rwandatel).  Considering the power and other conditions in that area, does anyone have recommendations on a small affordable broad-band router that has…

-          an easy to configure interface

-          native NAT or port forwarding

-          compatibility with standards over there and in the States

Also, I was wondering if any body has any experience with Terracom since they switched from Rwandatel.  Thanks for any information anyone cares to divulge
