Just to be clear, I am not saying that Mark never errs I am saying that in the opening lines of his gospel he has not erred. I do agree that when we think there is an error we need to examine it more closely and not assume that the writer is mistaken. I have a strong respect for the compiler of the Gospel of Mark and for his knowledge of the Old Testament and the works of Homer.
I beleive he demonstrates and unusual command of both.
A second comment regarding Michael's insistance on referring to AMark. That is of course a speculation. I am dealing with the document in hand. I believe it stands on its on merit. If and when we have a copy of AMark I will be happy to discuss that. For now it is text we have that I am interested in.
