There is no "properly written query" as far as FreeTDS is concerned.
The SQL is sent verbatim[1] to the server and the results conveyed to
the client. FreeTDS doesn't actually care if it's SQL or some other
query language.
Two things that can cause different execution results in different
environments are (1) the account executing the query and (2) the
session properties. Cf.
