New to the list, getting this error from
tsql -S SQLServer -U myusername -P mypassword
/usr/local/etc/odbcinst.ini:
[SQLServer]
Description = FreeTDS SQL Server ODBC driver
Driver = /usr/local/lib/libtdsodbc.so
Setup = /usr/local/lib/libtdsS.so
UsageCount = 1
/home/lee/.odbc.ini:
[SQLServer]
Description = SQL Server Test
Driver = SQLServer
Server = 192.168.1.100
Port = 1433
Database = mydatabase
User = myusername
Password = mypassword
TDS_version = 7.0
/usr/local/etc/freetds.conf:
[SQLServer]
host = 192.168.1.100
port = 1433
tds version = 7.0
I've checked library dependencies with ldd, everything seems in order.
I tried "telnet 192.168.1.100 1433" and got
Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
I will chase that error further, but there IS a SQL Server (10.0
Express) running on that port at that IP, with that port open, and the
SQL Server Browser service is running.
I found the Adaptive Server error on many other forums and have tried
their tips, to no avail.
I found Lukasz Szybalski's post with this error in the archives from
2/7/09, but didn't see any response/resolution.
The word "Adaptive" is curious -- does that mean it's trying to
connect to a Sybase SQL Server instead of a MS SQL Server?
Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.
